Day 1 : Nairobi To Kakamega.
Depart after breakfast for Kakamega county home to one of the largest natural forests in the country.
Kakamega forest is about 420 Km from Nairobi. On arrival, check-in at your preferred lodge, have lunch and relax at leisure.
Later, depart for a birds walk in the park to enjoy the flora and fauna in the forest. Walk to Lirhanda Hill for a spectacular view of the forest canopy in the sunset.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 : Nairobi To Kakamega.
Depart for an early morning walk. Head back to Lirhanda Hill and enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the forest. Nandi escarpment and be seen too from the hill.
Later, return to the forest and enjoy watching birds, monkeys, and butterflies. With about 350 birds species, the forest provides an important ecosystem for variety of indegenious birds including : Crested guineafowl, Giant kingfisher, Great blue turaco, Vieillot's black weaver, Blue headed bee-eater, Ansorge's greenbul are among many others.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and some rest. Later, visit the Abaluya village to learn about their culture and traditions. Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. Later in the afternoon, you will return to the forest for more bird watching and appreciate indeginous trees and learn the related history. Head to Buyangu hill to enjoy another beautiful view of the forest from the top.
Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 : Kakamega To Nairobi.
After breakfast, check-out and begin your return journey to Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi, head to hotel for bed and breakfast or head to the airport for your ownward return flight.
